For almost 3 years The Korean Veterans have been trying to get adequate road signage installed on motorways to ensure that those wishing to visit the national memorial in the Bathgate Hills can find their way to the memorial.
For that whole period they have been turned down by the SNP led Scottish Government for various reasons and the most recent was that this could not be considered until West Lothian Council installed additional local signage.
Delighted to now advise that following discussion between the Conservative group on West Lothian Council and Council officers a motion raised by the Conservative group was passed and the additional signage has now been installed.
One can only hope that the Scottish Government will now, at long last, instal Motorway signage and ensure that the remaining Korean Veterans get their wish and that the route to this beautiful memorial in memory of their fallen comrades is adequately signposted especially in this the 65th anniversary year of the cessation of hostilities.
This is a lovely memorial in a tranquil spot in the Bathgate Hills and something all should be proud to support and visit.
