He has been consistently criticised over the state of Scotland’s railways, with complaints of over-crowded trains, late arrivals and unexplained cancellations.
And while he happily posed on a train earlier this week while announcing an improvement plan, questions are now being asked as to whether or not he ever uses them, particularly with his daily commute from Glasgow to Edinburgh.
The document did reveal one claim for a Glasgow Underground travel ticket worth £20, but nothing on Scotland’s national rail network.
Scottish Conservative deputy leader Jackson Carlaw said:
“When Humza Yousaf said he wasn’t a transport expert, we didn’t think this meant he’d never set foot on a train.
“It’s all very well posing prettily while hanging off the side of a train to get himself through a news cycle.
“But the public want a transport minister who actually knows what it’s like to use Scotland’s railways.
“Commuters will be furious that the train network is deemed good enough for them, but not seemingly good enough for the man in charge.”
