Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson has visited the Poppy factory in Edinburgh that is set to share in a £5 million budget investment.
The office at the city’s Lady Haig House will split the cash with a similar facility in England.
It means the future of the base – which employs 40 ex-service personnel – has been secured.
The factory produces five million poppies every year, and the investment will help complete renovation work.
Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson said:
“This is fantastic news.
“The Chancellor has listened to the case made by many on behalf of PoppyScotland, and I’m delighted the veterans who work there are getting the recognition they deserve.
“We must never forget the sacrifices made by generations of servicemen and women.
"This extra funding will help ensure we never do, securing the future of Poppy production in Edinburgh for generations to come.”
