The Conservative Government is investing £3 billion of funding over the next five years to support the fight against the disease. This includes £500 million a year from the UK’s overseas aid budget for the next five years. The Gates Foundation will spend $200 million in 2016 to support research and development and to accelerate regional malaria elimination efforts, with a similar amount over the next four years.
