Supporters joined Almond Valley and Linlithgow MSP candidates in canvassing this evening.
With only the Scottish Conservatives not promising to raise taxes in Scotland and only the Scottish Conservatives promising to back the Union of Scotland within the UK more and more people were promising their vote to the Scottish Conservatives.
Stephanie Smith, Almond Valley candidate stated:
“It was obvious this evening that the general public want someone to stand up to the SNP and hold them to account, be it their economic damaging tax raises or their continuous pursuit of another referendum.”
“I, along with Ruth Davidson and the rest of the Scottish Conservatives want what is best for Scotland. Independence would have been catastrophic for our country and we must ensure this country moves forward together and the focus should be on jobs, the NHS and Education”.
“A vote for myself, Ruth Davidson and the Scottish Conservatives will result in the SNP being held to account and decisions made that will benefit everyone in Scotland not just the minority who want to separate our great nation”.
Charles Kennedy, Linlithgow candidate added:
“Across West Lothian, just as in Mid Calder this evening, people are telling us they want their Government to focus on making this country better and not on this continuous chasing of independence”.
“With the SNP agreeing that Scotland would have been £15 billion worse off had we of been independent, it is time Nicola Sturgeon repeated her promise that the referendum was a once in a generation event.”
“With the introduction of such laws as the Named Person Act and the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act, it is obvious to all that this Government does not understand what this country needs”.
“Be it the threatened closure of a children’s ward at St John’s Hospital which the SNP have remained silent about, or taxes being higher in Scotland under a SNP Government than the rest of the UK, this Government is letting the people of West Lothian and Scotland down and only a vote for the Scottish Conservatives will hold them to account and ensure decisions are made for West Lothian and Scotland”.
